Cameron Martin: analogue - Book Art Direction & Design
Art Direction and design for the third GHava{Press} publication, Cameron Martin: analogue.
Working closely with the artist over the course of nine months, I
had the unique opportunity to delve deeply into the studio archives to gain deep insights into Cameron's working process.
Purposely overlapping the traditional categories of artist book and monograph, analogue is an amalgam of images that forms a visual account of what motivates artist Cameron Martin’s methodology and production. New York Times art critic Ken Johnson has called Martin’s paintings “cultural signifiers, contemporary icons that stand for deep-running collective urges, like the fantasy of an intimate connection with nature.” The book’s non-hierarchical layout positions appropriated advertisements, travel snapshots, found images and studio pictures alongside reproductions of actual paintings and drawings, providing a complex view of the artist’s thinking about representation of the contemporary landscape.
Solar Transmission 01 - Video Composition
Video stills and excerpts from a 23 minute video composition prepared for the Colo(u)r Sound Culture Mash Up component of the Index Festival, NYC. Based on a mystical visionary experience in the transcendental realms.
A majority of the footage was developed through experimentation with analog fractal feedback techniques which was a process of alchemy unto itself.
Rayfin - Surfboard
Commissioned to develop a set of custom surfboard graphics, I was given the liberty to explore concepts around the Zen qualities of surfing. Abstractions of the chakra system, fish, the Sun and occult numerology were incorporated along with a marker system to guide foot placement for various techniques.

Nokia "I Love You" - Video Installation
Creative short for Nokia combining live action and stop frame animation centered around themes of connectivity through universal expressions. GHAVA was commissioned by Nokia to direct a series of unique shorts
to play across an impressive array of high definition in-store displays
as well as enormous, high resolution LED cubes, dubbed the “Nokia
Towers” at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5.
Miller Union - Restaurant Identity
Art direction and design (with GHAVA) of Miller Union’s logo including signage, menus and printed collateral materials. A stamp and recycled paper based identity was developed for on site printing to accommodate daily menu changes.

Archegram: 2nd Iteration
The Archegram: Iterations are a series of video projects centered around the audio/visual collaborations between Ateleia (James Elliott) and Sadek Bazaraa who first started collaborating in 2004 for the Netmage Digital Arts Festival in Italy. The 2nd iteration, abstractly narrative in nature, explores hidden systems of Orwellian control.

Nokia "Simple Machines" - Video Installation
By exploring the basic principles and properties of simple machines, an analogy is drawn between the ease of use and seamless integration of Nokia products into everyday life. Small experiments are captured in a stylized manner while hinting at subtle themes of connectivity. The interaction of a hand cranking a bike or a stream of air keeping a ping pong ball afloat evokes the memories of science class in an elementary schoolroom.
